Burdette “Burt” M. Schuldt

Burdette “Burt” M. Schuldt, age 88, of Sheboygan, died early Memorial Day   morning, May 31, 2021, at the Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. He was born in Spring Green, WI on June 23, 1932, the son of the late Lester and Eva Stebnitz Schuldt.

Burt attended school in South Wayne, Wisconsin and graduated from high school in 1950. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. Burt was also stationed in Morocco, Azores, England, Japan, and Florida. On June 29, 1957, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hendrickson at an old country church in southwest Wisconsin.

Burt was an Agent for State Farm Insurance Company for forty years from 1958 until his retirement in 1998. He was very active in the community and was president of many organizations including Sheboygan Jaycees, Sheboygan Area Life Underwriters, and Kettle Square Dance Club. He was also Commander of VFW Post 9156 and Chief Instructor at the Sheboygan Rifle and Pistol Club. Burt also taught appreciation of the U.S. Flag and how to fold the flag correctly to many elementary school children.

Known for his outgoing and personable demeanor, he was a friend to all and epitomized what it meant to be Good Neighbor.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Betty), of Sheboygan Falls; three children, Jim (Mona) Schuldt of Plymouth; Jeff (Amy) Schuldt of Franklin; and Joel (Erin) Schuldt Wauwatosa. 12 Grandchildren, Mike Schuldt Plymouth; Tyler Schuldt (Kelsey Freit) Fox Point; Ben Schuldt Madison; Philip (Elizabeth) Schuldt Milwaukee; Kelly (Michael) Mullenix Alabama; Peter (Valarie) Schuldt West Allis; Holly and Luke, Franklin. Ellie 17, Daniel 15, Cassia 14, and Jonathan 13 of Wauwatosa. 4 Great Grandchildren.

A memorial service for Burt will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Fountain Park United Methodist Church, 828 Erie Ave. Sheboygan with Rev. Warren Waddell officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan with VFW Post 9156 providing full military honors.
