Janet Dzwonkowski, 66, of Waldo, passed away peacefully at her son and daughter-in-law’s home on Friday, July 3, 2026. Janet was born in Milwaukee on December 25, 1959 to the late Emil and Joan (Bannach) Steffen. Janet and Doug Dzwonkowski have been together for 51 years and they were united in marriage in Milwaukee on January 28, 1978. Janet lived a fulfilling life surrounded by her family who she loved dearly. Janet knew the Lord Jesus as her Savior and looked forward to the promise of heaven, where she can now hold the babies. Janet built many meaningful relationships throughout her life and enjoyed being around the people she loved, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Janet is survived by her husband, Doug; son, Shawn (Tandis) Dzwonkowski; daughter, Jennifer (Ryan) Rizzi; grandchildren, Mia (fiancé Mitchell VerVelde), Molly, Jeta, Jayla Dzwonkowski and Logan, Liberty, and Levi Rizzi. She is further survived by her siblings, Andrew (Karen) Steffen, Cindy (Gene) Frechette and David Steffen; sister-in-law, Christine Steffen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry, Ronald and Danny Steffen; and sister, Sandy Orzechkowski.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Anchor of Hope Health Center in Janet’s name.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Janet’s home health care nurses Chantel and Dawn for their wonderful care.
