In the winter of 2013, a new health challenge began to prepare Jean—and her family and friends—for her earthly life’s end. Over the next 8 years Pulmonary Fibrosis and the medications that treated her lung condition, took their toll. Finally, unable to continue the fight, she left this world and embarked on a new journey of discovery. But even at her journey’s end, her thoughts were for her family, and her prayers were not for herself, but for those she was leaving behind.

Jean’s life was, and will continue to be, a fine Christian example of faith and humble trust, a source of hope for all. Her bright outlook and her quick wit will be missed. Especially her loving and kind heart shown to all who knew her. Through her living faith she was able to help many people when they were facing difficulties in life. She was a lovely, vivacious, smart, genuinely kind, caring and gracious person whose upbeat and friendly nature endeared her to so many. We greatly loved her.

The last several years of her life was painful and difficult, but she still maintained a happy and pleasant attitude, accepting her limitations in life with dignity and grace. This remarkable ability was because of her steadfast faith in God and His amazing grace displayed through her. She confidently looked forward to the next chapter in her eternal life, not fearful of passing and meeting her Lord, Jesus, face to face. She set a high standard for those of us coming along behind and will be greatly missed.

She was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother. Her passing leaves an empty chair at the table that will always remain so. For 65 years she shared her love and joy with every life she touched. And she will live on in the wonderful memories she gave us.

Jean was carried home to heaven in the arms of Jesus on March 1, 2021. God led her so gently through an 8-year journey through the valley of pulmonary fibrosis. Jean trusted fully in Jesus for her salvation – and we rejoice that she is now received perfect healing and at perfect peace with her Savior!

In her eternal Easter, Jean was greeted in heaven by many who went before her. Waiting here on earth for their heavenly reunion with her are her loving husband of 44 years, Rev. Adam L. Scheblein, sons, Adam W. (Sarah), Andrew (Hillary), beloved grandchildren , Lily, Callie, William, Hannah, and Emma, 2 sisters, a father, other relatives and so many brothers and sisters in Christ from New York, Florida, North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
