Joan E. Yurk (nee Schuster), 84, passed away at Sheboygan Progressive Health Services on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Joan was born in Sheboygan to the late Frank and Caroline (Stolz) Schuster on April 26, 1936. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in the class of 1954. Joan was united in marriage to Jerome Yurk at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church on August 17, 1957. A long-time employee of Evans in Sheboygan, Joan retired in 1997. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and enjoyed camping, reading and travel. Above all, Joan’s family meant the most to her. She was a dedicated mother and loving wife to Jerry for 63 years. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Yurk; children, Jeff (Nancy) Yurk of Fort Worth Texas, Jeri (Leo) Dreikosen of Sheboygan and Jim (Brenda) Yurk of Sheboygan; grandchildren, Derek (Megan) Yurk, Erin Yurk, Justin Dreikosen (fiancée, Dani Kainz), Elizabeth Dreikosen, Dominic Yurk and Emily Yurk; great-grandchild, Oliver Yurk. She is further survived by close cousins, Christine Anongos, Charlene Bebeau and Linda (Russ) Graskamp; sister-in-law, JoAnne Meinschock of Delavan; brother-in-law, Richard (Karen) Yurk of High Point, NC; and brother-in-law, Gary (Mary) Yurk. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, close friends and relatives.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Diane and brother-in-law, Bud Lindsay; brother-in-law, Allen Meinschock; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Pat Yurk.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s in Joan’s name. Condolences may be expressed online at www.reinboldfh.com.
