Nicolas “Nico” Aviña

Nicolas “Nico” Aviña, 67, of Sheboygan, passed away on February 27, 2023 at home in El Paso, TX. Nico was born in San Isidro, Guanajuato, Mexico on December 23, 1955 to the late Jose and Mary (Rodriguez) Aviña. Nico earned his GED in 1981 and served in the US Navy Reserves for eight years. Nico worked in manufacturing in Sheboygan until his retirement in 2015. He loved listening to and playing music. He played organ and guitar in the local Sheboygan band “Los Unicos.” He was very spontaneous, especially when it came to traveling. He loved to explore different places around the world and often brought his family with him. He will be greatly missed.
Nico is survived by his children, Crystal (David) Hamm, Nicolas “Jimmy” and Ryan; ten grandchildren; siblings, Salvador, Antonio, Elena, Jose, Maria, Martin, Sebastian, Faustino, Gerardo and Angelica. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Nico was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maria de Lourdes; and a brother, Jaime Aviña.
A visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, WI. Visitation will continue at St. Clement Catholic Church, 707 N. 6th St., Sheboygan, on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.reinboldfh.com.
