Peggy J. Ruppel

Peggy J. Ruppel, age 73, of Sheboygan, died on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. She was born in Welch, West Virginia on April 1, 1953, to the late Willaim and Joyce Newsome Barker.
Peggy attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1972. On June 24, 1972, she was united in marriage to the love of her life David Ruppel in Sheboygan.
She was employed as a cashier at Pick-n-Save in Sheboygan for over 20 years, and most recently Peggy worked at Loves truck stop doing food prep. She was a current member of City Church in Sheboygan. Peggy enjoyed her trips to the casino, and watching her grandson play baseball.
Survivors include her husband, David, of Sheboygan; a son, Michael (Miriam) Ruppel, of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Derek Ruppel, and Hanani (Jovanny) Gullen; four great-grandchildren; Ileana, Santigo, Luke, and Landon; a brother, Timothy Barker, of Knoxville, TN; her two sisters, Linda (Kenneth) Waples, of Danridge, TN, and Lena (Richard) Landwehr, of Sheboygan; and her nephew, Joseph (Amanda) Landwehr, of Sheboygan. Peggy is further a survived by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for Peggy will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at City Church, 3021 Main Ave., Sheboygan, with Pastor Vicky Guillen officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Peggy’s name. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the ICU staff at St. Vincent Hospital for the compassion and care that was given to Peggy.
