Susan Marie (Petrauski) Diels, age 64, of Sheboygan, died Tuesday morning, December 29, 2020 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Born February 17, 1956 in Sheboygan, WI to Anton and Ruth (Russell) Petrauski, she was the eighth child of her eleven siblings. Susie attended Sheboygan Area schools and was a 1974 graduate of North High School. Susan lived in Arizona for 25 years prior to moving back to Sheboygan in 1989. In 1997, she married Kevin and together they raised their only son, Nicholas. Being a mother brought her true joy and happiness. She enjoyed country music, bowling, working out and being outdoors, especially camping. She found delight in spending time as a classroom helper at Grant Elementary School and listening to all kinds of music with her sisters. She loved being a grandma and valued every moment she spent with her granddaughters. She was an avid animal lover and always had cats in her life. She dedicated her time to helping care for her father in the most recent months. Susie will be missed by many whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her son Nicholas Diels (fiancée Rebecca Starkey) of Milwaukee, granddaughters, Laurel and Eleanor, her father, Tony Petrauski of Sheboygan, brothers and sisters, Lynn (Jean) Petrauski of New Berlin, Joan Lorier of Sheboygan Falls, Mary (David) Zinkgraf of Plymouth, Karen (Bruce) Diener of New Berlin, Sharon (Dan) Dever of Sheboygan, David Petrauski of Sheboygan, Maria (Joel Fischer) Martin of Sheboygan Falls, Ann (Kevin) Hartmann of Sheboygan, Tom (Connie) Petrauski of Nashwauk, MN and several nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her mother Ruth, brother Gary Petrauski, sister Theresa Buckley and brother-in-law Jack Lorier.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan. Social distancing and masks are required. A private funeral service will follow.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice as well as the Sheboygan County Humane Society.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the exceptional staff at Sharon S. Richardson who provided invaluable care to Susie and great comfort to her family during this difficult time.

My condolences and prayers to your family during this difficult time. I’ve known here since junior high. She was always a lot of fun, with a great sense of humor. In the last couple of years we were reconnected. She would light up the room with her hugs and smiles. (and chocolate chip banana bread.) She had a genuine concern for all that knew her. See will be missed.
