Theodore “Ted” Renzelmann, 86, died on Friday, June 18th due to complications from a heart attack.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 64-years, Charmaine, along with their four children: Vicki (Tom) Pitsch, Terry (Jane) Renzelmann, Valerie (Bill Potocic) Renzelmann, Tim (Shel) Renzelmann; seven grandchildren, Tyson, TJ, Brooke, Aaron, Jennifer, Kaitlyn, and Lucas and four great-grandchildren, Hayden, Harlow, Lily, and Henry. He is also survived by brothers, Paul Jr., Pat and Steve and sisters, Sally, Celine, and Therese.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Kathryn Renzelmann; brothers, Mike and Jim and sisters, MaryAnn and Katsy.
Ted was born on December 30, 1934, the fifth of eleven children. He attended St. Peter Claver School and Sheboygan Central High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1955 where he served until 1958.
On September 1, 1934, he married Charmaine Konz. Immediately following their wedding, the newlyweds travelled to San Juan, Puerto Rico where Ted was stationed for 18-months. He often looked back fondly on this time as their “18-month honeymoon.”
Ted had an accomplished career in banking starting as a teller at Security First National Bank in Sheboygan; retiring in 1992 as Assistant Vice President at the same bank, then known as First Wisconsin Bank. Ted was active in a variety of civic organizations and activities including the Sheboygan Jaycees, the “Longest Day of Golf” fundraising event, and a long-time board member for the Abode: Sheboygan County Halfway House.
Ted was an avid golfer and long-time season-ticket holder at Riverdale Golf Course where he scored three hole-in-ones. He also enjoyed playing cards (especially cribbage) and was an avid Packer fan. He enjoyed the many family vacations at Kelly Lake especially the time he spent with Charmaine at their trailer at Holt Park after his retirement.
Ted will be forever remembered for his loving devotion to his wife. Above all, he cherished time he could spend with family and was always there with good advice and a helping hand. He was the best husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather and his family will miss him dearly.
He will also be remembered for his hard-working nature and endearing sense of humor that brought laughter into the conversation and a smile to those around him.
The family would like to thank Sunny Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation and Countryside Manor Retirement Community for the care and compassion they provided Ted and his family over the last two years.
A visitation for family and close friends will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made to one of Ted’s favorite charities; St. Peter Claver Catholic Church or the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund; or a charity of your choice.

Tim E Renzelmann

Allow me to share one story of the last few days of Dad's life that I believe those who knew him well would appreciate. Eventually, it became more and more difficult for Dad to communicate. I thin it was Wednesday morning and one of the nurses came in and asked, "Good morning Ted! How do you feel?" A few feet away, I could only make out a few words. Rather alarmingly, the nurse inquired, "You're having pain in your hands?" Seeing the expression on Dad's face, I explained, "You asked him how he feels and he jokingly said, "With my hands!"" That's Dad, until the very end, trying to make others smile during good times and not-so-good! Rest in peace Dad! Tim

Teddy was literally in our conversation last night. When I first moved to Sheboygan, I was fortunate enough to be a part of the “Renzelmann Group” and spent many hours on the golf course/golf shop with him. Always the diplomat, his calm demeanor and insight were always welcomed. Thank you for everything, your friends, Brent and Kara.
