Thomas Michael Hoem, 77, of Sheboygan, WI passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2024 in the loving care of his wife and devoted nurse of 53 years, Georgie.
Tom was born on April 10, 1947 the second of nine children born to Elmer and Margaret (Swanosky) Hoem in Superior, WI. After his graduation from high school, he joined the military. He proudly served his nation as part of the United States Army. On November 14, 1970 Tom married Georgianna (Johnson). They moved to southern Wisconsin and eventually settled in Sheboygan and began a family. Tom and Georgie used their home, as a mission field, in service to the Lord: adopting nine children and fostering many others. His greatest wish was to have all of his children and grandchildren remain in the faith and be reunited with him in heaven. He was a faithful member of his church.
Tom spent most of his life in Sales. To know Tom was to love Tom. He lived life to the fullest and did things his own way. He took pride in looking sharp, loved spending time with his grandchildren, listening to Elvis, mowing his yard, playing pool, and smoking a good cigar.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Al (Elmer), Margaret, and his brother Greg. He is survived by his wife Georgie and their nine children: Joe (Kristin), Gianna (Mike) Bessert, Rose (Jason) Albertin, Nick, Kelly (Auggie) Rommelfaenger, David, Nicole, Nydia, and Tony (Trisha). He was a proud “Boppa” to his 17 grandchildren: Max (Audrey), Nigel, Sophie, Charlie, Anna, William, Benjamin, Jozie, Nylah, Viktor, Quintin, Anthony, Peyton, Solomon, Cambre, Vinnie, and Milo. He is also survived by his seven adoring sisters: Marie, Bernie, Patty, Josie, Brenda, Cindy, and Denise.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 11th at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Ave., Sheboygan. Visitation will be held before the service, from 9:00-10:30 am, at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI. In lieu of flowers, Tom wished for donations to be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and to the Tim Tebow Foundation—particularly to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Fund.
