William C. “Bill” Reinl, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Sheboygan Health Services. Bill was born in Sheboygan on July 25, 1938 to the late Bruno and Marion (Conrad) Reinl. Bill graduated from Sheboygan North High School in the class of 1956. Upon graduation Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he honorably served from 1956 to 1959 and received a letter of commendation for outstanding recordkeeping service at NSA Ft. Mead. On May 14, 1966, Bill was united in marriage to Mary Lorenz at St. Rose of Lima in Sheboygan Falls. He was the Production Manager at Polar Ware for 26 years, worked at Black Wolf Run Golf Course for 5 years and was a delivery driver for Hoffman’s Flowerland for over 22 years. He was a lifetime member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council and was the Chief Usher for many years. Bill and Mary enjoyed traveling with their good friends Dave and Judy Meves. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed playing games with them and watching them play sports. Bill loved Sheboygan A’s baseball and was the Sheboygan A’s “Fan of the Year” in 2020. He was a member of the Sheboygan Old Timers Baseball, Knights of Columbus and previous member of Town and Country & Riverdale Men’s Club as well as a St. Nicholas Hospital volunteer. He enjoyed playing golf, cribbage, dice games and “signing in”, and watching Nick play softball for 40 years. He also enjoyed beer with pepper, hot dogs and cherries. He looked forward to each year’s annual swim in Lake Michigan with his grandkids and family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Chrissy (Tim) Schmidt and Nick (Jennifer) Reinl; grandchildren, Joey Schmidt, Mary Schmidt, Abby Reinl and Lilly Reinl; siblings, Judy (Sal) Troia and Mike (Joan) Reinl. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 818 Huron Ave., Sheboygan, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Mass at 2:00 p.m. VFW 9156 will provide military honors.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Bill’s name.
