Dolores R. Thuemmler, 76, of Sheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan with her family by her side. She was born January 9, 1948, in Sheboygan to the late Francis “Hutz” and Mary (Bowser) Deeley. Dolores graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School with the Class of 1966.
On June 7, 1969, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Thuemmler at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. They celebrated 55 wonderful years together.
Dolores was a CNA for over 20 years, working at St. Nicholas Hospital, Meadowview Manor and Pine Haven Christian Home, retiring in 2007. She had a heart of gold and caring for others was her passion.
Dolores enjoyed crafting, being outdoors camping and spending time working on her flower garden. She was a member of the Dirty Dozen bowling league and loved to get together with her friends to play cards. On any given day you could find her watching movies, her favorites were the westerns starring John Wayne. Dolores was a Titanic buff, she loved researching, collecting, reading about and of course watching the movie, it was her absolute favorite.
Family was everything to Dolores, she loved big and made sure her family knew they were loved and cared for. She cherished all the lasting memories they were able to create together. Her love didn’t stop with her family, it extended to her fur babies as well. She is going to be deeply missed by all her knew and loved her.
Dolores is survived by her husband Ken, two sons; Kurt Michael (Jody) Thuemmler and Todd Patrick (Stacey) Thuemmler, four grandchildren; Brandon Joseph, Evan Michael, and Sean Matthew Thuemmler and Morgan Rose Thuemmler, siblings; Nora (Leif) Salveson of Plano, TX, Jeff (Kathy) Deeley of Hilbert, Eileen (Fred) Michels of Sheboygan, and Randy (Donna) Deeley of Sheboygan Falls, sisters-in-law; Betsy Deeley of Richmond, TX, Karleen (Eugene) Schneider of Random Lake, and Kathy Ziegler of Plymouth, brothers-in-law Keith Thuemmler of Plymouth and Jerry (Laura) Thuemmler of Plymouth. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Helen (Dick) Kunert, brothers; Timothy, George and Matthew Deeley, in-laws Karl and Eldora Thuemmler, brother-in-law Greg Ziegler and her beloved dogs Muffy and Brandy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Dolores’s name.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff in the ER and the ICU at St. Nicholas Hospital for all the care and comfort they provided Dolores, and to the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for their care, compassion and support in Dolores’s final days.
Per Dolores’s wishes, private family services will be held.
