Donat Vandenhouten, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away at Oak Park Place in Green Bay on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. He was born on October 12, 1938 to the late Abel and Marie in Tonet, Wisconsin. Don was a 1956 graduate of Premontre High School in Green Bay. He was united in marriage to Rosemary Vogt in May 1968 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. He earned his undergraduate degree from St. Norbert College in De Pere and his Master’s Degree in Music from UW-Madison. Don honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. Don traveled the world extensively with his wife including countries throughout Europe, Asia, South America and Australia.
Don is survived by siblings, Mark (Mabel DeBaker) Vandenhouten of Green Bay, Lee (Sandie) Vandenhouten of TX, Yvonne (Jim) Jandrain of Egg Harbor, Susan (John) Calabrese of De Pere, and Cathy Vandenhouten of Green Bay. He is further survived by brother-in-law, Mark Lehmann and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Rosemary.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Oak Park Place, especially John, Lisa and Merry as well as Unity Hospice, particularly Brianna and Molly, for their care of Don.

Don Van, the Piano Man! Wonderful memories at Rupps Lodge with Rosemary. AKA…The Cherry Sisters. Don was a wonderful man and he and Rosemary were “Golden”. Always the gentleman…and the voice! Wonderful! There will never be anyone like him. Rest in Peace and enjoy being with Rosemary now! 💕
