Bonnie “Mary” Zelm, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Sheboygan Senior Community. She was born March 23, 1939, in Sheboygan to the late James M. and Evelyn A. (Meggars) Barry. Bonnie graduated from Sheboygan Central High School.
On November 23, 1957, she was united in marriage to John Zelm at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage and raised three children. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2021.
Bonnie was a devoted wife and mother. She was a bookkeeper for John who owned and operated Zelm Construction. Over the years she loved to go camping with her family and friends. As a family they went out west and camped in the National Parks, some of Bonnie’s favorites were in the pacific northwest at Mt. Rainier, the Rocky Mountains and in Banff National Park in AB, Canada. She cherished all the memories she was able to create with her family on those trips.
Bonnie truly loved the outdoors, fishing, snowmobiling and bird watching. When she wasn’t spending time outdoors, she could be found bowling or curled up on the couch reading a good book.
She is survived by her children; Debbie (John) Beeck, Dave (Mary) Zelm and Dan (Sandy) Zelm, seven grandchildren; Amanda and Abbey Zelm, Kimberly (Justin) Holtsclaw, Kayla (Connor) White, Katelyn Zelm, Paula (Tom) Molosky, and Jenna Zelm and three great grandchildren; Abe and Jude Molosky, Topanga Holtsclaw and a fourth great grandson on the way. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Milton (Loy) Barry and sister Lorabelle (Louis) O’Keefe.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Reinbold Novak Funeral Home and Crematory, 1535 S. 12th St. Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Campus Life Youth Ministry of Sheboygan or the Alzheimer’s Association in Bonnie’s name.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sheboygan Senior Community for all the care, compassion and support they gave to Bonnie.

Tyler Schaefer – Elkhart Lake

Dan, Dave, & Debbie: My sincere condolences to you & your families in the passing of your dear Mother. She raised, guided & protected you with her love, wisdom and devotion. These last three years without your Dad must have been very difficult for her. I'm sorry that she had to endure Alzheimer's. James Barrie once wrote, “God gave us memories, so that we could have roses in December.” So, gather your roses and reflect upon how great of a Mother that you were divinely blessed with in this lifetime. Your precious memories are yours forever. Every story, every act of love, every image, every cherished moment is safe within you, for all of time. Bonnie is now, as she has always been, in God’s hands… and that is the very Best place to be. May your Mother rest softly and in Peace. Praying that the Holy Spirit comforts each of you in this difficult time of sorrow.
