Tom passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, November 22, 2024. He was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois on September 18, 1955.
Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Helena V. Smith; father, Wilbur R. Gockman; brother, Russ Gockman and his loving daughter, Amy Lynn Gockman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Nancy K. Gockman; brothers, Raymond Gockman and John Gockman; sisters, Carol A. Sanford and Mary C. Gockman; daughter, Lynn M. Gockman; and stepdaughter, Valerie T. (Neuman) May; stepson, Charles N. Sanders and his wife Janet Sanders; grandchildren, Aleah Halbach, Savannah Neuman and Ashtin Leo, as well as many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends cooking on the grill while listening to his favorite band “The Grateful Dead.”
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Tom was one of my best friends. We had a lot of great times just hanging out, lighting up the grill and having a few drinks. He was a straight shooter never afraid to tell it like it is, but he was also a kind, loving person who wouldn’t hesitate to help you out when needed. I already miss him, but will always remember the great times we had together. Knowing he is with God now eases the pain, even if just a little bit. Love you, brother!
