Caroline P. Johnis, age 54, of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 29, 1970, the daughter of Placido Prieto and Manuelita Pulido.
Caroline attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1989. On April 3, 2021, she was united in marriage to James Johnis. Caroline was employed at Wigwam, Sartori Cheese, Rockline Industries, and Bemis Manufacturing.
She loved the outdoors, camping, festivals, traveling, and the San Francisco 49ers. Caroline also enjoyed spending time with her nieces, a great niece, and her beloved puppy, Zoey.
Survivors include her husband, James, of Sheboygan; three siblings, Consuelo (Manuel) Mexicano, of Milwaukee, Catherine (Harold) Jenkins, and Placido Jr. (Dawn) Prieto, both of Sheboygan; her father, Placido Prieto Sr.; seven nieces, Marissa, Silvia, Brenna, Illiana, Ciara, Gianna, and Carina; a nephew, Alamar; her great niece, Lita; two brothers-in-law, Paul (Libe) Johnis, of New Mexico, Jon Thomsen, of California; and her three sisters-in-law, Yvonne (Mike) Darbant, of Sheboygan, Teena Johnis, of North Carolina, Diana (Larry) Born, of Sheboygan Falls; and her furry kido, Zoey. Caroline is further survived by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Manuelita.
A memorial service for Caroline will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to Aurora Sheboygan and St. Luke’s Medical Centers, and Dr. Nora for all the compassion and care that was given to her. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Caroline’s name.
