Anne Elizabeth McCracken passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, with her family by her side.
At the age of 17, Anne received a heart transplant. Despite facing serious health challenges after her transplant including lymphoma and a brain injury that left her disabled, she persevered with strength and grace.
Anne graduated with honors from Lincoln High School, where she was a member of the girls swim team and played violin in the orchestra. She had looked forward to attending the University of Chicago.
In 2005, Anne and her mother opened Acute Angle in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, which she helped operate until 2020 with the support of close friends. She later moved to St. Augustine, Florida, where she lived with her parents and found joy in the nearby Atlantic beaches.
Anne is survived by her parents, Robert and Debra McCracken of St. Augustine, FL; her brother, Robert Y. McCracken of St. Augustine; her sister, Leigh A. Fullenkamp (née McCracken) and husband Joe Fullenkamp of Columbus, OH; and her beloved niece and nephew, Virginia and Henry Fullenkamp. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle, Carol and Karl Mate of St. Augustine, and aunt Jennifer Mueller of Milwaukee, WI.
Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the many dedicated doctors and nurses who cared for Anne over the years, especially those at the Mayo Clinic transplant centers in Rochester, MN, and Jacksonville, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne’s memory may be made to the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra PO Box 606 Manitowoc, WI 54221-0606
