John H. Niebuhr, age 74, of Plymouth, died on Friday, August 15, 2025, at The Waterford in Plymouth. He was born in Japan on October 15, 1950, to the late Robert and Kazuko Myshita Niebuhr.
John attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1969. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. John was employed as a care giver at hospitals in California and Utah. He was also a past member of Fountain Park Global Methodist Church in Sheboygan.
John enjoyed reading, listening to music, playing piano, and participating in the Community Players. He loved traveling to Japan, where lived with relatives for a time and was teaching English to students.
Survivors include his three siblings, Gloria (Gary) Scharenbroch, of Plymouth, Janet Seybold, of Elm Grove, and Gary Niebuhr, of Sheboygan. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial service for John will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Pastor Warren Waddell officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. A burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery.
