Robert “Bob” John Stichert, age 87, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, and is resting comfortably in the arms of our Lord. He was born July 5, 1938, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to the late Ervin and Mary “Betty” (Leonhard) Stichert, and he was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1956. Bob was united in marriage to Jean Braun on June 1,1963, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Bob proudly served his country in the National Guard from 1955-1957, and the U.S. Navy from 1957-1961. He was employed at Kohler Company for 34 years and retired in 2001.
Bob loved bowling and was a member of the Wisconsin State Bowling Association for 29 years. He served as the Vice President of the WSBA for one year and was also an inducted member of the Wisconsin State Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Locally, he was a member of the Sheboygan Bowling Association for 22 years, serving as Secretary/Treasurer for 11 years. Bob was also inducted into the Sheboygan Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, playing cards, watching Top Gun, and reminiscing about his Navy days. He loved hunting and spent years with his son-in-law Mike trying to bag the biggest buck in 2019, and he couldn’t have been prouder when he finally did.
Bob was also a dedicated and supportive grandpa, and he loved to watch his grandkids play sports and perform in concerts, and he never missed a graduation, birthday, or award ceremony. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather for 64 years, and he spent those years leading by example. He showed his children and grandchildren how to be strong, resilient, and hardworking, but he never forgot the importance of a good time, a good sense of humor, a well-made Old Fashioned, and a deck of cards. There was never a dull moment when Bob was around.
He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his father and mother, his brother Fred, and his daughter, Kelly (Stichert) Reinemann, with whom he was so looking forward to reuniting. Survivors include his loving wife Jean of 62 years; his son, Kevin Stichert; his daughters Michele (Michael) Block and Tracy Lund; his grandchildren Sean (Maggie) Reinemann, Taryn (Bradley) DuPuy, Jordan Reinemann, Madeline Block, Anthony Stichert, Camryn Lund, Connor Reinemann, Alex Lund, and Miranda Block; and his great-grandaughter, Wren DuPuy.
We would like to thank the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and Sharon Richardson Hospice for the care and compassion through this difficult time.
To best honor his memory, there will be a private family service held at the cemetery. Afterwards, we invite family and friends to Lakeshore Lanes at 4:30 pm on Saturday, August 30, 2025, for Bob’s Big Bash tailgate to share stories of his eventful life. Be prepared to eat, drink, and throw a bowling ball for Bob!
