Karen Rose Marie Eckert, age 74, of Sheboygan, was called safely home on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Countryside Manor in the Town of Sheboygan. She was born in Sheboygan on March 1, 1951, the daughter of the late Edward and Elva Gandre Eckert.
Karen attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1969. She was employed at Lear Manufacturing for over 10 years, and then she worked in the Deli at Festival Foods for 4 years, until her retirement.
Karen was a current member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and the Sheboygan YMCA. She was also a volunteer at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital and a Sunday School teacher at Bethlehem Lutheran as well. Karen enjoyed dolphins, snowman, butterflies, traveling, music, baking, gardening, sock hops, and dancing. She was an animal lover, especially her many dogs and birds.
Survivors include her sister, Sandy Eckert; two brothers, Conrad (Joette) Martin, and Richard Schultz, all of Sheboygan; and her sister, Carol Eckert, of Sheboygan. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends survive. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Edward Eckert, her sister and brother-in-law, Laverne and Robert Stock, sister-in-law, Linda Schultz, and her dear friend of many years, Steven Williams.
A funeral service for Karen will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave. Sheboygan with Rev. Patrick Niles officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Monday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. Burial will take place at the Lutheran Cemetery in Sheboygan.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Countryside Manor, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and the many family and friends for the compassion and care that was given to Karen.
