Andrew “Andy” Sommersberger, age 75, of Sheboygan, died on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center. He was born in Sheboygan on February 16, 1950, the son of the late Raymond and Marion Nitsch Sommersberger.
Andy attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1968. On August 17, 1974, he was united in marriage to Kathi McKelvie in Sheboygan. Andy worked various jobs throughout his life, most recently he was employed in the meat department at south side Piggly Wiggly for over 10 years until his retirement.
He was one of the founding members of the Sheboygan Lakeshore Surf Club and was the first of the members to surf the waves of Lake Michigan. Andy was an avid music collector, he took pride in his Hi-Fi stereo equipment and his ability to build his own speakers. He was also a Wisconsin Badgers, and Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors include his wife, Kathi; two brothers, Larry and Tom (Mary) Sommersberger, all of Sheboygan; three nephews, Gregory (Carrie), Brian (Meggan), and Kenneth (Heather); and his six nieces, Casey (Scott), Trish (Lindsay), Tara (Adam), Alison (Robert), April, and Kimberly (Lance). Other relatives further survive. Andy was preceded in death by his parents.
In accordance with Andy’s wishes, a cremation will take place and no services will be held.
