Doris Cecelia Gruenke

Doris Gruenke was born on February 18, 1949 and passed away on November 6, 2025 at the age of 76. She attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School with the class of 1967. During her working years she was employed by the Aurora Clinic for 23 years retiring as the manager of operations. Doris was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was in the choir for over 30 years. She enjoyed sewing mittens for craft sales, making children’s clothing, reading fiction, doing puzzles, being a vocal soloist and more than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her children, Scott (Leah) Gruenke and Sara (Gabe) Garcia; grandchildren, Logan, Kendall, Lily and Blake; sisters, Catherine (Jay) Isa-Adams and Lucille Mueller; sister-in-law, Jean Blindauer, many nieces and nephews and special companion, Bandit. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Clara Blindauer; brothers, Kenneth and Eugene Blindauer; brothers-in-law, Gerhardt Mueller and Alhassan Isa and sister-in-law, Kaye Blindauer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church,1305 Humboldt Ave., Sheboygan, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Doris’s name to the ALS Foundation or a charity of your choosing are appreciated.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Embrace, especially Michele and Tammy, as well as all of the other outstanding caregivers for their compassionate care of Doris.
