Jean Marie Wodach, age 59, of Sheboygan, died on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Froedtert Medical Center in Wauwatosa. She was born in Sheboygan on April 9, 1966, the daughter of the late Edward and Jill Klaus Lorenz.
Jean attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1984. On June 10, 1989, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Edward Wodach in Sheboygan. Jean was employed as a secretary at the Health & Human Services office for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2022. Jean and her co-worker Gina were both known for helping anyone that came to the HHS office, regardless of their needs.
Of Jean’s many hobbies, she was best known for her “monster” cookies. She made and donated cookies for every party. event. and fundraiser…in mass quantities! They were beautifully wrapped in cellophane with ribbon and special personalized tags!
Jean was a “doer”. When something needed to be done, she took the lead. A shower gift basket, wedding gift, or memorial photo book…she was your girl! She was an expert in gardening and Ed was her best student, especially when it came to planting and watering. LOL Jean had an affinity for rescuing dogs. Always a furry loved one in her life. She will be missed by her current dog, Zoey!
Jean also was a Wisconsin sports fan, cheering for the Packers, Badgers, and most of all, the Brewers. In her younger years she played basketball for Sheboygan South High School and was known for being one of the outstanding athletes for the team. She was a great shot!
Survivors include her husband, Edward Wodach, Sheboygan; siblings, Mary Jo (Michael) Robinson, Bill (Sue) Lorenz, all of Sheboygan, Cindy (Kevin) Sistler, of DePere, Donna (John) Hafemeister, of West Allis; and her sister-in-law, Sherri (Richard) Schieble, her father-in-law Edward W. Wodach, both of Sheboygan. Jean is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, and friends. Her parents, an uncle, Thomas Fritz-Klaus, a cousin, Jon Klaus, a great-nephew, Archer Sessler, all preceded her in death. All gone too soon as well.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held in spring when Jean’s 60th birthday celebration would have taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jean’s name may be directed to the Sheboygan Senior Community.
Jean’s husband Ed would like to thank her best friend, Carla Duket, for being by her side during her difficult times of hospitalization; during Covid in 2022 and this most recent final stay.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to Froedtert Hospital 6th Floor ICU, and the entire medical team for the compassion and care that was given to Jean.

It was an honor to coach Jean while she was on the girls basketball team. She stayed on the team and was known for her shooting and “dancing” ( nicknamed “Jean Jean the dancing machine”) during practice and bus rides. Her humor brought a smile to all. We would laugh in later years when seeing each other around town. A super human being. God’s speed Jean!

Carla Kohlhagen

Im so sorry for your loss, Jean was a wonderful Lady

Jean was such a bright light, she truly was such a blessing to have gotten to know during my time with her at Sheboygan County. I met her when I came onboard in 2017 and she was incredibly welcoming and it was always so nice sitting for a while and chatting when I was over at the building. She will be missed deeply, but how lucky are we to have known a soul like her. Deepest condolences to the family and friends and loved ones.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Jean rather well the last few years. She always had the best attitude despite whatever she was going through. She had the best sense of humor and I loved hearing about her time shared with friends and family and what silly thing Zoey had done that week. She really adored everyone in her life. I will miss our visits and cherish the time we shared together. My heart goes out to her family and friends during this time. She could light up any room she entered and I hope you carry that light with you.
