John Gahagan, lovingly known as “Uncle G”, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the age of 75.

John will be remembered for his strong-willed and stubborn nature, balanced beautifully by a deeply loving heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He had a gift for making others laugh and brought warmth and comfort to everyone around him. A devoted animal lover, John had a special place in his heart for his cats and was proudly known as a dedicated “cat dad”. Proudly served in the US Army.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially cheering on his beloved Milwaukee Brewers & Indianapolis Colts. He treasured the time he spent with his family, including his many “favorite little humans”, who brought him endless happiness.

John is survived by his daughter, Orlean Roerdink; his granddaughter, Raven Price; and his siblings, James (Denise) Gahagan, Helen Koury, Debra (John) Loveland, and George (Toni) Gahagan. He is further survived by his nieces and nephews: Kimberly (Andres) Koury, Adam (Jess) Koury, Richard Thomas Koury, Josh (Trisha) Koury, Staci Gahagan, Scott Gahagan, Julie (Brett) Golding, Jessica (Andrew) Ernisse, and Russell Gahagan; his special friend, Linda Golding; extended family Russell (Stephanie) Burr; and his cherished “little humans”: Elyse, Russell, and Lilly Gahagan; Patience, Sophia, Brynn, and Harper Golding; Chloee and Maycee Ernisse; Jasper Koury; and Lincoln Burr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Minnie Gahagan, and his brother-in-law, Richard Koury.

John’s family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace, free from pain, and held in the loving arms of the Lord. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.

A private funeral service will be held for immediate family only.

A special thank you to the staff of Sharon Richardson & to his lifelong neighbors and friends, Greg & Kathy!
