Joanne I. Serr, Age 80, of Sheboygan, WI went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2026. She was born on November 20, 1945 in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Victor and Esther Bornick.

Joanne graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1963. On September 9, 1967 she was united in marriage to Ken R. Serr in Brown Deer, WI.

She was a bookkeeper most of her career working side by side with her husband Ken at their service station in Princeton, WI. Later she worked at Miles Kimball in Oshkosh, WI and a Ford dealership in Canton, IL. In 2005 she followed her husband Ken to Missouri as he started his career as a Missouri Synod Lutheran Pastor, which led them to Illinois and back to Wisconsin.

Joanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and her faith was the center of her life. She cherished studying her bible and singing in church. Most recently, she was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, WI.

She enjoyed knitting barbie doll clothes and hats and scarves for her grandchildren. She treasured time camping with her husband and granddaughters.

Joanne is survived by her husband, her daughters, Ann (Kevin) Boehnen of Cross Plains, WI, Michelle (Kendall – fiance) of Brown Deer, WI and Krista (Joshua) Nigbor of Menasha, WI; five grandchildren, Matthew Serr, Elizabeth Boehnen, Lexi Boehnen, Jacob Nigbor and Wyatt Nigbor; brother, Victor (Butch) Bornick, Jr.; brother-in-law, Steven (Ellen) Serr. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 3027 Wilgus Ave, Sheboygan, WI at 11:00a.m. on Monday, June 8th, 2026, with Pastor Adam Barkley presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will be at a later date at Lutheran Cemetery, Sheboygan, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in care of the National Youth Gathering Fund.
