Marjorie Mae (Bowser) Kuehl departed this earth on Saturday, June 13, at the venerable age of one hundred. Her most fervent wish was to not end up in a nursing home, and thanks to the loving care and commitment of two of her daughters, her wish was fulfilled; Marjorie passed away in the comfort of her LakeHouse apartment.
As with most couples, the matriarch of the Kuehl family, Marjorie, and the patriarch of the Kuehl family, Sylvester did not agree on everything, but there was one thing the couple stood firmly together on – their priorities: Number One, God; Number Two, family. While raising their crew – and for decades afterward – Sylvester and Marjorie carried the torch for God and family. After Sylvester’s death in 2008, Marjorie picked up the torch and carried on. Only in passing did she lay it down.
The family tree Marjorie and Sylvester created is, to say the least, expansive. Ten children: Marsha (William) Bathke; Gregory (Marcia) Kuehl; Judith (Terrand Grall) Kuehl; Thomas (Nancy) Kuehl; Donna (Richard) Frantz; Mary Kuehl; CJ Kuehl; Monica (James) Schoenike; Christine (Dennis) Wick; Robert (Kimberly) Kuehl; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, plus one on the way. Every single one of them Marjorie and Sylvester’s pride and joy. And in the years since Sylvester’s passing, every single one of them was the light of Marjorie’s life.
Majorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandchildren, Jacob, Amber, and Kelly, and a son-in-law, William Bathke.
This light showed in Marjorie’s eyes whenever someone close to Marjorie visited. It came through in her sense of humor, which was present up to the very end. On Sundays especially, Marjorie’s apartment burned bright with fun, laughter, and amusement.
The family would like to recognize Marjorie’s many wonderful caregivers at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, and Aurora Medical Center, and LakeHouse, where he resided. Their value and valor will forever be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marjorie will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan. Family and friends may gather at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of the Kuehl family.

I will always remember when my mom and her were on the phone all I would hear is constant laughing. Same when I’d see them together in person. She really felt like my second mom. She always made you feel special in her presence. 100 years on this earth was just too short. I will miss her.

Kuehl family, My deepest sympathy to you all. I really admired both your parents and remember them fondly. I was out of town until Thursday afternoon. Sorry I could not be there.

I could not of had a sweeter, kinder mother-in-law. She was a delightful woman who always saw the good in everyone. Every visit we had with her left a smile on my face. Such wit & humor, even in her final days. God bless you Marjorie & may you rest in peace…you surely deserve it 💕

To my Kuehl cousins, I loved your Mom. I loved the way when our mom transitioned she was always available for a good conversation, laugh, and cry. I loved the way they could chat and catch up and laugh and giggle together. She was so much like my Mom that it made the loss of Mom, kinda bearable. So sorry for your loss. Having 10 kids and she always had more love to give to the rest of the family. She sure taught us all that lesson. When ever we would come to town, a visit with Margie was always a must. Not out of obligation, but she was like visiting another wonderful Mom. So interested in our family and saying prayers for all of us. Always laughing and talking about all that truly matters. I will surely miss her unique model for all our lives. Her priorities were perfect for the family and her legend of love will live in us all. God blessed us with some wonderful family and memories that I hope we still make in her honor. Heavenly Happiness, I can hear the laughter and joy with the reunion. God bless you all in your transition to her living now in each of you. She’s more great now.

Marge was my mom’s best friend! They too would talk on the phone and every once and awhile get together for coffee and dessert! I can only imagine the stories they would share with each other! My sympathies to the family you took such great care of her. May all your memories help during this hard time.

As far back as I can remember, my family would always go to your house/apartment for a day in summer. It was a wonderful day every time. I remember your huge, great, comfy chair. I remember sitting on your lap. I remember talking to you. I remember hearing so many stories of our family. I wish my family and I could have seen you these last couple years. I love you so much and you will always be in my heart. I love you, Great-Grandma Kuehl. Your Great-Granddaughter in Florida, Geneva Cizek

I will miss Aunt Margie's incredible sense of humor. Many good times visiting along with my parents. Such a treasure of memories shared by them as I was able to witness their joy in sharing them. My dad and his sister Marge were two peas in a pod as I'd listen to them banter and joke with each other. My mom always said that Aunt Margie was the sister she never had. They were blessed to have had such a close relationship. I have so many great memories of both Aunt Margie and Uncle Snuffy and all the fun times getting together as kids. I can almost hear the celebration and laughter as she's greeted by all her loved ones that went before. Rest in peace Aunt Margie. I will truly miss our visits . My deepest sympathies and love to my cousins and your families ❤️

I will cherish the memories of my mom and Margie giggling on their regular phone calls about anything and everything. Her presence in this world will be missed by many. Ahh, but so many joyful reunions in heaven.

Dear Mrs Kuehl(Marge) She would always correct me when I called her Mrs Kuehl and told me she was going to call me ms Haas until I called her by her first name. Which was hard to do because I grew up in the age of calling the parents Mr. or Mrs. Tina(Christine) and Bob along with the rest of your families I wish you Gods blessings in this very sad time and “Marge” I wish you a happy and safe journey to your new home with our Lord. Last week our mother traveled a quiet inner pilgrimage toward God; a journey beyond the physical world. When on this earth she was the most gentle and loving soul a person could hope to encounter. A child of God who always, ALWAYS put the well-being and comfort of others before herself. She was a paragon of virtue. And now her physical presence, her hugs, her voice, her laughter, have transitioned into a memory. And that is where the ache takes root; in the hollow left by a love we can no longer touch. We leave you in God’s hands, beloved mother. You will be deeply missed. <3
