Neal Long, age 86 passed away peacefully at St. Nicholas Hospital on January 5, 2019. He was born on September 23, 1932 in Waldo, WI to the late Ellsworth and Leeola (Heidenreiter) Long. On October 3, 1953 he was united in marriage to Janet (Lawrence) Long. Neal was passionate about his scrap business and retired from Polar Ware Co. after 38 years of service.
Neal is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janet; son, Kevin (Karen); daughters, Tracy Long and Gale (Terry) Sippel; brother, Keith (Sally) Long and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, David; son, Dean and siblings, Gerald (Joe), Warren and Noreen Merkel.
Following Neal’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all of the fourth floor care givers at St. Nicholas Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Neal.
