To the Family of Joan
VERY SORRY about the passing of JOAN
She rented from me and my daughters for a number of years on N. 9th St. in Sheb.. She was very well liked by all of us and we did see her once in a while after she moved to the old hospital on between 9th and 10th Streets. She would have us come and get a box of cookies from her each Christmas my daughters still remember that!
GOD BLESS LOVE JIM ALICIA RACHELLE McGRATH
Dear Barbara and Mary,
I forgot to add that the Saint Anne's Society will be having a Mass for Joan at Holy Name Church at a later date. I saw in the bulletin that the family is having a Mass this Tuesday. Joan will also be remembered at our Annual St Anne's Memorial Service in October. Mary Kullmann, St. Anne's Secretary
Dear Mary and Barbara,
Our sympathy to you on the loss of your sister Joan. We do remember how she loved to straighten the songbooks after Mass. She loved Holy Name Church and we enjoyed having her as part of our organization. If you have a service for her at a later date, please let us know. Our members attend all funeral services for our past members and we would want to be there. Mary Kullmann, St. Anne's Secretary
I never met Joan. We once had a phone conversation in August of 1984 when I was starting law school at Marquette. My father told me we had relatives in the area and I found Joan in the phone book. She told me she just retired from Marquette after 25 years. Her work area at Marquette had been mere steps away from the law school entrance, We just missed each other by a few months. Sadly, in the many years since then, we were never able to connect in person. Ironically, I will be in Sheboygan on February 12, 2020, and decided to look up my relatives there, only to find Joan passed away just a few days ago. Once again, we just missed other. Joan would be happy to know that the Gelhard name lives on with my son James, a 15 year old currently attending Marquette High School. Rest in peace, Joan.
Please accept my sympathies on the passing of Joan. I enjoyed seeing her and working with her on the Holy Name Human Concerns Committee. She was a lovely lady.
My husband and I would like to express our sympathy at this difficult time. Joan is finally in a better place and at peace. She and mom were such good friends and roommates to each other and I’m sure they are with each other again.
