Laura V. Kammerzelt, age 103, went to her LORD on Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. She was born on December 18, 1918 to Robert and Alice (Lienau) Goldapske.
Laura attended Longfellow Elementary School and graduated from Central High School. On December 18, 1938 she was united in marriage to Arthur Kammerzelt at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She was a lifetime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
Laura worked at Pranges, R-Way Furniture, plastic Engineering, and at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital as a nurses’ aid in the Nursery. In her younger days she enjoyed miniature bowling, one day trips, dancing, playing cards, picnics with family and friends, hunting, fishing, golf, as well as doing ceramics and making things for her friends. Laura belonged to the Sheboygan Vocational Homemaker’s Club, Optimist Club, and was a Red Cross Volunteer for 25 yrs. She enjoyed gardening and being a homemaker. Laura and Arthur were married for 62, years before Art passed away on May 12, 2000.
Survivors include her three children, James (Diane) Kammerzelt, Gerald (Linda) Kammerzelt, and one daughter Sharyn Grider Mondloch; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, one sister and her son, Robert Kammerzelt.
In accordance with the family’s wishes a private graveside service has been held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson.
Laura would like to thank her neighbors Tom and Patty Edson, and Tom and Katy Hubbard for all their help over the years. Laura has found peace at last with no more pain and suffering.
