Vernon Garbisch was born on September 18, 1936 and passed away on April 19, 2021 at the age of 84. He attended Roeder Elementary School and graduated from Granton High School. Vernon was united in marriage with Darlene Kohls on September 29, 1956 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with pastor Mark Wagner. During his working years, he was employed at the Kohler Company working various jobs and retired as a carpenter after 43 years. Vernon was a current member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, going up north to Crivitz, gardening, talking about his fond memories on the family farm in Granton, collecting coins and more than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 65 years, Darlene; children, Michael Garbisch, Terry Garbisch, David Garbisch and Shelley (Ben) Nelson; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nelda Garbisch and siblings, Irene Mott, Violet Schmidt, Alice Hinkelman, Leland Garbisch, and Marvin Garbisch.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Vernon’s name.
