Norman A. Trempe, age 90, of Sheboygan, Wis., passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
Norman was born in Sheboygan, on November 14, 1930 to the late Arno and Esther (Roehrborn) Trempe. He attended local schools and graduated high school from Central High School prior to entering the United States Marine Corps. He served his country from 1952 to 1954 and did a tour in the Korean War. After serving, he returned to Sheboygan and became a heavy equipment operator at C. Spielvogel Sons Excavating where he worked for 40 years. He was a proud, lifetime member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 139.
On October 30, 1965 he was united in marriage to Josephine Lieske. The couple lived in Sheboygan and owned Weeden Orchard where they grew apples and sold cider for many years. Norman was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed trips to his land in northern Wisconsin with friends for the yearly hunt. He also enjoyed coyote and fox hunting in the winter months.
Norman is survived by his wife, Josephine; his daughter, Krista (Bob King); son, Michael; grandchild, Bret; and faithful, furry companion Schatze. He is also survived by his sister, Helen (Thomas) Schaller and was preceded in death by brother, Robert (Janice) and sister, LaVerne (Robert) Shimkoski.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Chaplain Marianne Brandt officiating. The burial and a military honor service will conclude at Lutheran Cemetery in Sheboygan.
