Joanne Knaub, 82, of Sheboygan passed away on Wednesday August 31, 2022, at The Shores of Sheboygan. She previously resided at Pine Haven Covenant Home for two and a half years. Joanne was born July 13, 1940, to the late Charles M. Sr. and Aurelia (Merkel) Strysick.

Joanne truly cherished the time spent with her family, teaching them how to cook, sew, craft and garden. One of the favorite family traditions was making Knaubwurst at Christmas time along with many other Volga German recipes, with grebel being a family favorite. Those recipes were passed down to her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren as well. She worked as a Baker at Park and Shop South for ten years and retired as a Baker III at the American Club in Kohler in 2011.
Joanne is survived by her children, Peggy (John) Truttschel, Cedar Grove WI and their family Aaron (Lucy) & Ruby Truttschel, Madison, WI, and Nolan (Teresa) Truttschel, Cudahy, WI; Corinne Raml and her family, Joshua (Sarah) Raml, Hannah, Emma and Matthew of Sheboygan; Joseph (Amy) Raml & Amelia of Sheboygan; Christine Knaub (Jim Whipple) of Sheboygan; Son-in-law John Johnson, Sheboygan, and his family James (Tasha) Johnson, Nathan and Mary of TX along with Michael (Darcy) Johnson, Madisyn and Aubrey of Cedar Grove, WI. Two brothers, Charles (Grace) Strysick and Darrell (MaryAnn) Strysick and one sister, Ardith “Tootie” Gross all of Sheboygan along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, further survive. Along with her parents and husband, Robert, Joanne is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Johnson, a brother Ronald and his wife, Joyce Strysick, and a son-in-law Joseph Raml and numerous sister in-laws, and brother in-laws.
A memorial service for Joanne will take place Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. at the Reinbold Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan. Relatives and friends may greet the family from 1:30p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. Pastor Patrick Niles of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will officiate.
The family would like to thank Sarah Wassink and Doris Theune who provided us with knowledge, guidance, and support during this journey along with the staff of Pine Haven Covenant Home, Sharon Richardson Hospice, and The Shores of Sheboygan for all the care and compassion given to Joanne.
