Mary H.(Behring) Posewitz, 84, of Sheboygan, passed away at Sheboygan Senior Community on Monday, November 21, 2022. Mary was born in Kohler to the late Alfred and Julia (Wagner) Behring on August 15, 1938. She attended Kohler Public Schools followed by St. Vincent’s Infant Academy for 2 years. She was united in marriage to John Posewitz on April 8, 1961 in Kohler at St. John’s Evangelist Catholic Church. She worked for Dr. Schroeder and lovingly raised her family. Mary enjoyed making quilts for each of her children and grandchildren, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. She was a loving and kind woman filled with faith. She had great compassion for others and a humble spirit that will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, John; four children, Julie (Mark) Van Lieshout, Jack (Diana) Posewitz, Mike (Jill) Posewitz, and Rob Posewitz; 13 grandchildren, Matt (Kayla), Jaslyn, Ben, Alex (Ashley), Brandon (Kendal), Camber, Nathan, Katy, Joey, Blake, Sam, Abbey, and Elise.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jim and Bill Behring and brother-in-law Jim Posewitz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1305 Humboldt Ave., Sheboygan, with visitation at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. Private burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank Staff at Sheboygan Senior Community for all of the loving care they provided to Mary for the past several years. Special thanks to Sara Fritz from Optimum Health for being a guardian angel for our family and looking over our mom and grandma as well as Dustin Erdman from Richardson Palliative Care for all of the support, guidance, and care. Throughout her 35-year journey with MS, she was an inspiration to us all with her strength and resilience. She never once complained or let the disease stop her from enjoying her life to the fullest.
