Allen “Hippy” Hilpertshauser

Allen B. Hilpertshauser (92) of Sheboygan passed away on Sunday, March 3 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born on July 9, 1931 in Sheboygan, son of the late Eugene and Philipine (Zimmermann) Hilpertshauser. He was a 1950 graduate of North High School. On February 18, 1956 he married Violet E. Zeinemann.
He served in the Army in Korea from 1952-1954. He worked at the Lakeland Mfg Co and at the US Postal Service for 27 years. After retirement he worked part-time for Sheboygan Chrysler Chevrolet.
Allen was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served as Financial Secretary, Head Elder, and usher. He loved attending his grandchildren’s activities and in his spare time enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his daughter Kim (Dennis) Ploetz of Sheboygan; son-in-law Dean Novak of Milwaukee; grandchildren Emily (Matt) Brendel, Wyatt (Melissa) Ploetz; step-grandson Paul (Jackie) Novak; and great-granddaughter Maci Ploetz. He is further survived by a sister-in-law Joyce Zeinemann along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Violet Hilpertshauser, daughter Debra Novak, his parents, and siblings Eugene Hilpertshauser and June Holtz, and their spouses.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Avenue, Sheboygan, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Patrick Niles will officiate. Interment will follow at Lutheran Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Nicholas ER and Sharon Richardson Hospice for their care and compassion.
