Alphonse “Al” Haen

Alphonse “Al” A. Haen, age 94, of Sheboygan, entered eternal life on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Harvest Home Assisted Living in Howards Grove. He was born in Sheboygan Falls on August 12, 1926 the son of the late Peter and Mary Ardts Haen.
Al attended St. George Grade School and graduated from Oostburg High School in 1944. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean war from 1950 to 1952 and was stationed in Korea for 9 months. On November 4, 1961 he was united in marriage to Pearl Nelson at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Pearl preceded him in death in November of 2004. He was employed at the Sheboygan County Highway Department for 5 years and then the Sheboygan Post Office for 25 years, retiring in 1990.
Al was a current member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Al and Pearl took many bus trips to Branson, MO, Washington D.C., Niagara Falls, Holland, MI for the Tulip Festival and Arlington, IL for the horse races. They also traveled to Nashville, Germany two times and enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas. In June of 1991 Al was fortunate enough to hit the Supercash Lotto numbers and he won $250,000. Al was an avid card shark and liked a good game of Sheepshead and belonged to many card clubs in the Sheboygan area.
Survivors include his two children, Perry (Cindy) Haen and Christine (Daniel) Jeske, both of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Tony (Sheila) Haen, of Sheboygan and Hanna Jeske, of Madison; step granddaughter, Danielle M. Smith, of Sheboygan; a great-granddaughter, Cassandra Haen; a brother, Norbert (Adeline) Haen, of Sheboygan Falls. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Al was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, three sisters and his granddaughter, Haley Haen.
A memorial service for Al will take place at a later date. An entombment will take place at Holy Crosse Mausoleum with VFW Post 9156 providing full military honors.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the entire staff at Harvest House Assisted Living in Howards Grove, especially Rachael and Beth, and Cathy with a “C” with the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the compassion and care that was given to Alphonse.
To our dad, we couldn’t of asked for a better dad than you! Your love was constant and unconditional, for that we are so thankful for! Dad, you and mom will live in our hearts forever. Love Perry & Christine Xo
