Alphonse William Reiter

Alphonse William Reiter, age 89, of Sheboygan, died on December 21, 2023 at the Sheboygan Senior Community with his children at his side. He was born in Sheboygan on May 14, 1934, the son of the late Tony and Bertha Reiter.

He attended local schools and graduated from North High School in 1952. On February 15, 1958, Alphonse was united in marriage to Rosemary (Clark) at Holy Name Catholic church in Sheboygan. Alphonse was employed at Vollrath Company for 37 years as a lathe operator, retiring in 1996.

Alphonse served in the marines from 1953-1956. He attended St. Peter Claver Church and was an active member of the Toastmasters society. He enjoyed Ice Shooting with his German friends, playing Blackjack at Oneida, and doing crossword puzzles. Alphonse enjoyed dancing with the D’werdenfelser Schuhplattlers and won many awards competing nationwide.

Survivors include his five children: Steven (Susan) Reiter, Donna (Pat) Reiter, Debbie (Jeff) Reichardt, all of Sheboygan, Lisa (David) Mullins, of Yorktown, Virginia, and John (Lisa) Reiter of Sheboygan Falls. Eight grandchildren: Chris, Jenny, Nathan, Kyle, Derek, Amanda, Joseph, and Samantha. Sixteen great grandchildren: Dakota, Zoey, Sierra, Alannah, Aspen, Alyssa, Avery, Shane, Alayna, Abram, Ava, Addison, Edison, Pierce, Amelia and Arlo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; his parents, Tony and Bertha Reiter, and his brother, Anton.

Visitation for Family and Friends will be on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street., Sheboygan. Visitation will continue at the Funeral Home on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park following service.
