Bernard E. “Ben” Engelhardt, age 92, of Sheboygan passed away late Thursday afternoon February 17, 2022, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Ben was born December 29, 1929, in Sheboygan to the late William and Alma (Roehrborn) Engelhardt. He attended Bethlehem Lutheran School and was a 1947 graduate of Central High School. On November 8, 1958, Ben was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Bubb at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, serving on various committees and the church council. Ben was employed at Kohler Company for 33 years, retiring in 1995.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years Gwendolyn, three sons John Engelhardt of Sheboygan, James (Jacqui) Engelhardt of Sheboygan Falls, Andrew (Debra) Engelhardt of Sheboygan, grandchildren Casey, Cody, Nikki, Kayla, Kelsi, Brett and Brittany, great-grandchildren Aidan, Brooklyn, Carson, Wyatt, Sarah, Isaac, Eli, Ely, Jaxon, Tavayah and Lexi and nieces and nephews.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters Harold (Madeline) Engelhardt, Wilbert (Ethel) Engelhardt, Rueben Engelhardt, Adeline Engelhardt, Esther (Chris) Brock, Herman Engelhardt and Donald (Joan) Engelhardt.
Family and friends may gather at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave. Sheboygan on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Rev. Patrick Niles will officiate. Private burial will take place in the Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
