Bernard “Bernie” M. Jaeger, 83, of Sheboygan, passed away on September 8, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. He was born on July 18, 1942 on a farm in Sheboygan to the late Rueben and Virgene Jaeger. He was a 1960 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. On July 17, 1982 he was united in marriage to Geraldine Barclay in Sheboygan. Bernie worked for several years at General Box in Sheboygan and eventually retired from Poly Vinyl in Sheboygan Falls. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and loved the Sheboygan A’s. You would often find him laying on his side listening to sports on his radio. He was thankful to see his Packers win one last time the day before his passing. In his earlier years, he could be found with an unfiltered Lucky Strike and a drink in his hand or walking to various places around town. He loved a good time and was well known for being a jokester.
He is survived by his stepdaughters, Susan Kupsch (David Sjurson) and Debra (Brian) Zaverousky; grandchildren, Nicole Kupsch, Ari Prath (special friend, Daniel Foth), Brayden (Haley) Kupsch, Steven (Kaelyn) Arpke and Jonathan (Gabriella) Zaverousky; great-grandchildren, Natasha McCranie, Natalie McCranie, Karsyn Prath, Nylah Nash, Starlytte Prath, Jasmine (Justice) Wolf and Kiana Arpke; and great-great-grandchild, Bentley, his “little buddy”. He is further survived by his brother Robert (Diane) Jaeger, and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Jaeger, parents and brother Elroy.
A funeral service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, with visitation from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m.
A memorial fund is being established in his name.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sejla Kosaric and the staff at Lakehouse Sheboygan, the ER staff at St. Nicholas Hospital and St. Vincent Hospital staff in Green Bay, especially his nurse Sam who was there to hold his hand when we couldn’t.
