Bonnie Lynn Guehna, age 65, of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Sheboygan on July 10, 1955, the daughter of Clinton and Lois (Debbink) Grossheim.
She attended local schools in the Oostburg area and graduated from Oostburg High School in 1973. On March 26, 1983 she was united in marriage to John Guehna at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Bonnie was employed at Heritage Insurance Company for 8 years and quit to be a stay at home mother for 10 years. Then in 1993 she went back to work as a tax preparer for H&R Block until her retirement in 2020.
Bonnie was a current member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and in the past enjoyed playing in the hand bell choir and assisting in the school library. She enjoyed traveling and was a great travel planner in finding terrific destinations and lodging with her husband. Bonnie and John were able to visit all 50 states. She also loved to take walks, camping, Green Bay Packers, and the Milwaukee Brewers. Bonnie treasured the time making Christmas cookies with her two granddaughters.
Survivors include her husband, John, of Sheboygan; two sons, Eric (special friend Becky Johnson) Guehna, of Sheboygan Falls and Adam (Abbie) Guehna, of Plymouth; three grandchildren, Arlynn, Adeline and Abel; her mother, Lois Grossheim, of Oostburg; two brothers, Dave (Teresa) Grossheim, of Cedar Grove and Gary (Patti) Grossheim, of Sheboygan; two sisters, Mary (Brent) Wykhuis, of Oostburg and Ruth (Jeff) Saueressig, of New Berlin; her sisters-in-law, Ellen (Derek) Morgan, of Loveland, Ohio, and Nancy Guehna, of Sheboygan. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends further survive. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Clinton Grossheim, an infant son, Brian John Guehna and a brother-in-law, James Guehna.
A funeral service for Bonnie will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave. Sheboygan with Rev. Patrick Niles officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery. Please practice social distancing and facial coverings must be worn during the time of visitation and the church service.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the bystanders, EMS, and the medical staff at Memorial Hospital for the compassion and care that was given to Bonnie.
