Bradley Shea King, 69 of Kohler, WI passed away on the afternoon of March 9th, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family after a hard fought but brief battle with cancer.
Brad was born on September 24, 1954, to Charles M. and Shirley A. (Shea) King of Mitchell Indiana. After graduating from Mitchell High School in 1972, he entered a Co-Op program through General Motors at General Motors Institute, now known as Kettering, in Flint, Michigan. There he received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Administration. During his college years, Brad was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity where he made wonderful and lasting friendships
Brad worked for GM for 10 years before accepting a position at the J.L. French Corp. in Sheboygan, WI. In 2001, Brad saw an opportunity and accepted a position with the Gibbs Die Cast Corporation in Henderson, KY where he oversaw the start-up of a new manufacturing operation in Vac, Hungary. After his time there, he once again returned to Sheboygan and worked as a Quality Control Director for J.L. French. He was an avid golfer, landing four holes in one at Pine Hills Country Club, he also attained the title of Club Champion.
In 2011, he and his wife returned to Indiana where he was employed as the Quality Control Director for Ryobi in Shelbyville, Indiana until his retirement in 2017. After retirement, his love for bicycling re-emerged and he rode 3000 miles per year throughout the Eastern U.S.. He and his wife enjoyed travelling in their R.V. for a couple of years before settling into winters in Naples, Florida, and summers in Kohler, WI to be with the family. He also enjoyed and followed horse racing and Indiana University basketball. He enjoyed many Sunday afternoons teaching his boys to play golf or fish, a passion they are passing on to their children.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Myra (Payton) King of 47 years and his children Charles (Tiffany), and Alex (Nichole). He will be forever remembered as “Pops” by his four grandchildren: Alyssa, Nadia, Colton, and Evelyn.
Family and friends may gather at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan, WI on Friday, March 15th, 2024, from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at 4:30 p.m. Tom Monroe will officiate.
His family would like to thank all the wonderful people at Froedtert Cancer Center in Wauwatosa, WI, Holy Family Memorial Cancer Center in Manitowoc, WI, and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI.
