Carlos “Cully” John Niemann, 92, of Sheboygan, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born on November 15, 1928 to the late Walter and Emma Niemann in Sheboygan. Cully graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in the class of 1947. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On October 17, 1959 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marlene McCall at St. John the Evangelist in Kohler. He was a truck driver and mechanic with VanDerVaart for 45 years. He belonged to S.H.A.R.K.S. which is a radio-controlled airplane group where he was able to share his passion in building and flying radio-controlled airplanes. In his younger years, he owned his own full-size airplane and loved to go flying in it. He enjoyed watching both NASCAR and Indy Car races and raced stock cars at many county racetracks. In his later years, he enjoyed watching the many races held at the county fairgrounds. Cully loved Wisconsin sports. You could always find him watching the Packers, Brewers and Bucks when they played. In his downtime he was working on anything with an engine, tending his raspberry patch or working on home projects. He loved spending time with his family and attending his grandkids sporting events. Among his many interests and hobbies, fishing was one of his favorites. He was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.

I am very sorry to hear of Cully's passing. I have fond memories of him from all the time I spent at your house. Him either in the garage or in the basement fixing something or working on some project. His love of Wisconsin sports teams, his sense of humor, and he is the only person that called me "Waller". But mostly, I remember the kindness in which he treated me and always welcomed me into his home. I send my thoughts and prayers to all of you during this difficult time. My sympathies, Jeff Ristow

Aunt Marlene, and my cousins, I always stopped by when I was in town from Maryland to visit with my aunt and uncle, I always looked forward to that visit, to see them in person and see how things were going and to catch up on everything.. I am sorry I missed the visit in 2020 as I did not come back to town due to COVID. I will deeply miss Cully and my talks with him. Know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. I cannot make it back to town this weekend, but I will be there in spirit.
