Carol M. Koning, age 91, of Sheboygan, died on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center. She was born in Sheboygan on September 18, 1934, to the late Arthur and Clara Hanke Gessert.
Carol attended Longfellow Elementary School, Southside Junior High School, and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School. Carol was married to Eugene Koning. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1994. Carol was a proud homemaker for most of her life. She was also employed as a housekeeper at Morningside Nursing Home and worked at R-Way Furniture as well.
Carol was a lifelong member of the Sheboygan Elks Lodge, and a past member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Carol enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe.
Survivors include her two children, Wayne (Debbie) Usadel, and Wendy (Tod) Heinzen Roe, both of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, David (Brynn) Usadel, Daniel (Amy) Gotter, Joseph (Jennifer) Roe, and Jared (Taylor) Roe; nine great-grandchildren, Blake, Isaiah, Micah, Amara, Faith, Roman, Lyric, Odin, and West; and her two great great-grandchildren, Athena and Demetrious. Carol was also survived by her dear friend, Darlene Beaudry, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, James Beaudry, and her sister, Claireann Asonavich.
A funeral service for Carol will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Rev. James Schulz officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the Garden Terrace Mausoleum at Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Carol’s name. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the doctors and nurses at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center and the staff at Lakehouse for the compassion and care that was given to her.
