Cathleen Firkus, age 41 of Francis Creek, passed away at home on January 14, 2019 after a life long battle with depression. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen D. (Pellegrino) Butke; children: daughter, Alexis Nikole, son, Reilly Erich and daughter, Aubree Denise. She is further survived by her grandmother, Marjorie (Marty) Butke as well as aunts and uncles, Susan (Jay) Stickney, Catherine (Charlie) Campbell; Barbara Ann (Kevin) Wilkins; Steven (Kris) Butke and Robert (Cindy) Butke; Kellyann (Swanson) Miller along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cathleen was preceded in death by her father, Fritz E. Butke, grandfathers, Joseph E. Swanson and Fritz G. Butke, and grandmother, Catherine L. (Horner) Swanson.
Cathleen was born in Stratford, NJ and spent her formative years primarily in New Jersey and Virginia. Cathleen’s adult years were in Wisconsin but she was always a “Jersey Girl” at heart. Cathleen attended Indian River High School in Chesapeake, VA and Woodbury High School in Woodbury, NJ. She graduated from Woodbury High School in 1995. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Cathleen made friends where ever she traveled or settled. Unselfish with a winning smile, Cathleen was big hearted and always thought of others first. She was creative, intelligent, and didn’t like to rely on others. She was loving and hard working. When she loved someone or something she did so with her whole heart. Her greatest joy in her life were her children.
At the time of her passing, she worked at T-Mobile in Green Bay.
A Celebration of Cathleen’s Life will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at St. John St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1251 W. Washington Ave., Cleveland, WI, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is set up for the benefit of Cathleen’s children.

I know we didn't get along well at school however we did make peace with one another and became friends. I loved seeing your fb pics of you and the children and hearing that you are no longer here with us just broke my heart. I will miss you terribly.

I am so so sorry for your loss Cathleen and I had been friends since Grade school. We often talk led over the last few years as we had similar struggles. I will miss her dearly. And will pray for everyone.
I didnt know her that well, but i do remember being friends with her in Intermediate school, I think 5th or 6th grade. She was always very nice, sweet and funny. I am so sorry for your family's loss, may God Bless you all.
