Daniel, who was born July 7, 1942, passed away on November 4, 2022 at the age of 80. After graduating from Shawano High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy for six years as a radioman. He married his beloved wife, Kay Wilson, in 1967 at Christ Lutheran Church in Hintz, WI. During his working years, he was employed by the Kohler Company for over 25 years and retired from Bemis Manufacturing in 2005.
Dan had a passion for horses his entire life, starting at Circle C Ranch in Shawano and later switching to the horsepower of motorcycles. Dan went to a Harley-Davidson dealership searching for and finding his forever ride: a 1986 Liberty Edition bought site unseen. He shared many wonderful memories going on rides with his wife and the dream of going to Sturgis.
Dan was a man of God who was devoted to caring for his family. He was a humble, hard-working man that was grateful for his many blessings. He was a man of few words with a kind heart and a quiet humor about him. His joking nature and playful smirk will forever be remembered.
He will be deeply missed by those lucky enough to have known him.
Dan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay; children: Debbie (Jim) Gischia of Silver Springs, FL, Jim (Julie) Golen of Green Bay, WI and Michelle (Joe) Zuengler of Sheboygan Falls, WI. Grandchildren: Kellie (Zach) Shore of Easly, SC; Jack Golen of Sheboygan, WI; Katie and Carter Golen of Green Bay, WI; Max, Raena and Tim Zuengler of Sheboygan Falls, WI; Samantha (Joe) Reglin of Sheboygan, WI; Dominic (Ashley) Gischia of Fort Atkinson, WI and Carlo (Andrea) Gischia of Sheboygan, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Margaret Golen and siblings, Paul Golen, Ray Golen and Helen Becker.
