Daniel John Sonnentag entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on the morning of November 13, 2021. He passed peacefully in the care of medical staff at Grafton Aurora Medical Center.

Dan’s joy came from spending time with his family, including his four sons, Jonah (Suzanne) Sonnentag, Goshen, IN, Jacob (Elena) Sonnentag, and his precious granddaughter Tanya, Lexington, KY, Jordan and Justin Sonnentag, Oostburg, WI; parents, Don and Marilyn Sonnentag, Sheboygan Falls, WI; siblings, Vickie (Brian) Van de Water, Luxemburg, WI; and David (Sarah) Sonnentag, Sheboygan, WI; brother-in-law, Mark (Patricia) Vincent, Sheboygan Falls, WI; nephews (6), nieces (4), great-nephews (3) and great-nieces (3). He is preceded in death by his sister, Lorie (Sonnentag) Vincent.

Dan was born on January 12, 1966 in Edgerton, WI to Don and Marilyn (Wecker) Sonnentag. He grew up in Sheboygan, WI and graduated from North High School in 1984. He attended Fort Wayne Bible College for two years. He started working at Pentair in 1986, where he stayed employed until his passing.

Dan loved working in his yard and took great pride in making it look good. He loved to express himself through writing. He would often listen and sing to worship music while working around the house. He loved to travel, particularly to Florida to visit family and lay by the pool. He had a great love for people and people had a great love for him.

Dan had a deep love for his family. He always made time for his children, whether it be visiting with them in person or over the phone. His only grandchild, Tanya, was the light of his life and he often referred to her as his “little angel.” He loved his nieces and nephews, and they have many fun memories of playing games, pulling pranks on, and giving nicknames to their “Uncle Danny.”

A celebration of life for Dan will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.

In lieu of flowers, any gifts of condolences can be made to the Sonnentag family funeral fund at https://gofund.me/04d08356 or by mail to the Daniel Sonnentag Funeral Fund at Oostburg State Bank, 905 Center Ave, Oostburg, WI, 53070. Any contributions are graciously appreciated.
