Daniel R. Ludwigson, age 72, of Sheboygan, died on Friday, May 27, 2022, at St. Nicholas Hospital. He was born in Chippewa Falls, WI, on February 22, 1950, the son of Richard and Beverly (Raatz) Ludwigson.

He attended local schools in Cornell, Wisconsin and graduated from Cornell High School in 1968. On June 21, 1969 he was united in marriage to Judy Shoemaker. She preceded him in death on December 14, 1993. Dan then married Janell Gesch on June 6, 1998.

He was employed as a Technical Service Representative at Kohler Company for over 30 years, until his retirement.

Dan was an avid outdoorsman and he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was known for raising many animals which included chinchillas, hedge hogs, fish, and pigeons. Dan was also Green Bay Packer fan and loved attending dirt track racing at the Plymouth Fairgrounds. He raced in the Sportsman Division 1994-1997.

Survivors include his wife, Janell, of Sheboygan; his mother, Beverly Ludwigson of Mondovi, WI; three children, Chad (Judy) Ludwigson, of Sheboygan Falls, Brian Ludwigson, of Gaston, S.C., and Emily Ludwigson, of Fond du Lac; three grandchildren, his two brothers, Randy (Joan) Ludwigson, Steve Ludwigson, both of Alma, WI; and his sister, Diane Ullom, of River Falls, WI. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends, including long-time friends, Kraig and Donna Thayer. Dan was preceded in death by his father Richard, first wife Judy, and his son, Paul.

A funeral service for Daniel will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Dan’s name. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at Songbird Pond Assisted Living in Plymouth and the ER staff at St. Nicholas Hospital for the compassion and care that was given to him.
