Darla completed her earthly journey at the age of 84 and went on to join her many family members and friends in heaven on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at her home. On September 29, 1940, Darla was the firstborn daughter of Joan (Prescher) and LeRoy Williams.
She attended South Side Junior High School, except for one year at Sheridan Elementary. She graduated with the great Class of 1959. Darla was happily employed in various office positions.
She enjoyed 50โ€™s music, dancing, writing letters, and life itself. Working on the Central High School website brought much enjoyment to her. She had a great admiration for animals and loved her pets dearly. Darla was previously married to Roger Thimmig. On December 6, 1974, she married Steve Altman, and they embarked on raising their blended family together.
Darla is survived by her immediate family, which include her husband, Steve Altman; sons, Rickey Thimmig, and Clay Altman; a sister, LeAnn Tevsh; and her beloved cat โ€œPeanut.โ€ She was preceded in death by her daughter, Becky Altman, her son, Randy Thimmig, her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jean and Bill Altman, and her brother-in-law, Michael Tevsh.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan.
