Big brother, I have many memories, even though I was in 6th grade when you left home for good. It was especially my family's honor to help you navigate what ended up to be the last two plus years of your life. Whether it was bringing food, coffee, window blinds, bedding, blankets and furniture for your apartment, or a SeaBees hat and t-shirt. It was great to see you so happy. I remember your love of music every morning when I blast my KLOVE Radio station on my drive to work. Your neighbors miss you. I was happy when I heard that you were one of the property management's favorite tenants! You weren't always easy. Your life wasn't always easy. But know that I miss you too, and I am grateful that you didn't suffer. at the end of your life journey here on earth. Jeff, Lucas, Grady and myself came back from our summer vacation to say good bye to you in person. You had a supportive family in all of us. I know how proud you were to serve in the US Navy, MCB-74, especially in Da Nang and Ben Hoi, Vietnam from 1970-1971. I remember you telling a young man at the Plymouth Piggly Wiggly, when he thanked you for your service to our country, that you would do it again in a heartbeat. I was with mom the night that we waited at the Sheboygan County airport for your plane to come in, only to find out that instead of being sent home, you were sent overseas. I was there when you came running home down N. 12th St. in a short-sleeved shirt through white-out blizzard conditions, to surprise us on leave. I was there when you came home after losing who you thought would be the love of your life. I was there when you shared your "stories." Some of them were almost unbelievable, had they not been proved true by the Internet! You persevered through it all. I am so glad that we spoke on the phone the Thursday night before, when you called to wish me an early birthday present. Maybe deep down inside you had a feeling...that, I will never know. Life is about choices, and I am glad that you chose to be a child of God. I am glad we could share Bible stories and relate then to now. It brings me comfort that I will see you again, in Heaven, some day. I now know how it feels to lose a sibling. Please greet all of our grandparents, cousin Paul, mom and dad, Baby B, my godparents and other loved ones for me. Take care until I see you again. Love, your sister Julie
