David F. Johnson, age 86 of Sheboygan passed away late Thursday evening July 28, 2022. David was born to the late Carl Zimmer and Rose (Eastman) Johnson on June 6, 1936, in Idaho. He was united in marriage to Carmela Ingoglia on April 16, 1955, in Seattle, Washington. David was employed as a concrete mason for many years, retiring in 1998. Following retirement, he and his wife Carmela moved to Texas and resided there for 22 years. David’s passion was golf and family. He was known as “The Mayor of The Bull”. David also enjoyed playing golf at Riverdale and playing cards with family and friends.
David had silver in his hair and gold in his heart. He was our Superman. Strong as nails, stoic and loved his family more than anything. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle. He was the BEST joke teller and the BIGGEST know it all!
On July 19th 2022, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. seven months ago he drove from Texas to Florida to be with his family for Christmas. Two months ago he was dancing at his grandsons wedding. One month ago he golfed with his grandsons and son in laws. 4 days before his death he sat in his daughter and son in laws pool surrounded by his entire family cracking jokes.
We pray that you rest in peace and thank you for the amazing family you created. We will never forget you because you have given us so many wonderful memories.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Carmela, daughters Toni (Patrick) Seitz of Orlando FL, Theresa (Scott) Nischik of Sheboygan, Carmella (Jim) Venturini of Mt. Pleasant, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

I was at Riverdale the day Dave showed up from Texas and as my father used to say "there are no strangers here, only friends we haven't yet met" It was always an enjoyable time if Dave was involved. He'll be missed...

Very sad to hear of Papa’s passing. I cherish the memories had as a young kid (thanks for letting me take advantage of the pool in the summertime Nana and Papa!) and will forever be thankful for the example he provided on the type of person I should strive to become. Thoughts and prayers to you all!

You’ll be loved and remembered fondly. Thanks for being a surrogate grandpa to Ryan. Your influence on him is carried onto our children and will continue on for generations. Until we meet again… we’re blessed to know you’re at peace, in the kingdom, and full of humor, light, and love.

Once again, we are so sadden by this news. He certainly was a family man and a great guy to talk to. I'm sure he is in his special spot in heaven, not making a bad shot in golf, ever again. Love to all and prayers for comfort.
