Debbie Schneider, 69 years old, passed away at Rocky Knoll on Sunday morning, November 9, 2025 after a lengthy illness. She was the youngest daughter of Raphael and Hilda Schneider. Debbie lived a life with special needs after developing an infection after birth at a local hospital, causing severe brain damage.
She was the pride and joy of her parents. However, as time went on, it became more and more difficult to control her self-injurious behaviors. It was a very difficult decision for the family; but it was advised by the medical experts to place Debbie in a home for developmentally disabled individuals. Debbie was unable to attend local schools due to her medical and special needs condition. Today, that would never have happened! This all occurred prior to former President Bush’s “NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND” act of 2002.
Debbie thoroughly enjoyed music and spending time with her family. Her parents and siblings were devoted to her and assured that she was properly cared for. Her Dad could fix just about anything! It was his heartache that he was unable to “fix” Debbie’s medical and physical condition, although her Dad and Mom tried their absolute best for her! Over the years, Debbie was never able to verbalize her needs and I truly believe it was her “purpose in life” to teach others compassion, empathy, patience and love for others with special needs.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Linda DiBona and Eileen Kreutz. What a glorious reunion in heaven it will be… when she joins her parents and sisters that have gone before her! She is survived by her sister and guardian, Cindy (Bruce) Becker. She is further survived by her brother-in-law, Richard Kreutz as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as a new great grand-nephew this year!
The family is grateful to all of the caring and dedicated staff at Rocky Knoll of Plymouth as well as Sharon Richardson Hospice Community Hospice.
Visitation for family and close friends will be on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11:00 until the time of service at 12:00 noon at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Avenue, Sheboygan, WI, with Pastor Patrick Niles officiating. Entombment will be held Monday, Nov. 17 at 10:30 a.m. next to her parents in the Lutheran Cemetery Mausoleum.
Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, Sheboygan, WI. is assisting the family. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Sharon Richardson Hospice Community Hospice.
Fly high sweet little sister! You’re finally free of pain and frustration in this crazy world. Until we meet again XOXO
