Loving wife and mother died June 6, 2024. She was 99 years old.

Dolores was born January 30, 1925 in Sheboygan to Bernard and Anna (Geiger) Giefer. She attended Holy Name Elementary School before graduating from Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1943.

She was employed at the former Hand Knit Hosiery Company and Wilson Brothers Manufacturing. She also worked at the Playdium in Sheboygan, where she met the love of her life, Leonard Doelder. They dated for five weeks and decided to get married. On February 20, 1947 Dolores was united in marriage to Leonard Doelder at the First Methodist Church in Milwaukee. They were married for sixty-seven years. The couple purchased land in the Town of Wilson where Leonard began construction of their home. Leonard was a skilled carpenter which allowed him to make several remodeling additions. It was there that they raised their children and celebrated family life together. Leonard preceded her in death on July 7, 2014.

Dolores spent many days outside gardening and was known for her gorgeous flower gardens. In the town of Wilson, the neighbors meant the world to her. Judy, Darla, Betty, and Florence were friends for life. She loved to participate in swimnastics and spent every chance she could swimming at various lakes. The Sheboygan Quarry and Central pool were her favorites. She not only enjoyed the swimming, but enjoyed talking to other swimmers and life guards she met. She was also known for dancing with Leonard on Friday nights at the Eagles Hall and Bavarian Inn (Milwaukee) and Sunday afternoons in Adell and Rangeline Inn.

Dolores was a dedicated member at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and a secretary/treasurer for A.A.L. Branch 1754 for eight years. She was a past member of the Mary/Martha Guild.

Dolores enjoyed her time at Taylor Park Senior Apartments and loved the panoramic view of the Sheboygan skyline from her 5th floor windows. She made many friends there and enjoyed the company of fellow residents. She loved socializing and sharing her passions with everyone.

She leaves behind three children: Steven Doelder of Village of Bloomfield, Wisconsin, Nancy (Walter) Mueller of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas and Diana “Dee Dee” (Jack Posewitz) Foth of Town of Sheboygan; grandchildren: Michael and Sarah Mueller, Jeremy Foth and Maria Schuh, Jonathan and Krista Doelder; great grandchildren: Nicholas, Joshua, and Luca Mueller, Cameron and Carter Schuh, Cameron and Kyla Stanley; one sister-in-law: Ruth Becker and various nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond, Bernard, Kenneth, Robert and James Giefer and sister Elvera Graefe.

The family would like to thank all the compassionate and respectful caregivers at St. Nicholas Hospital and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and their many family, friends, and neighbors for all the support and compassion provided over the last few days.

Visitation will be held on Sunday (June 9, 2024) at the Reinbold Novak Funeral Home, 1535 South 12th Street in Sheboygan from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. A memorial service to celebrate Dolores’ life will begin at 4:00 pm with Reverend Schulz officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday morning with the time to be announced at the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in memory of Dolores.

Dear Doelder family, We really wanted to stop today and express our sympathy and thank you for all the years of friendship your Mom provided our Mom, Shirley Brack. Our grandsons graduation was changed from yesterday to today because of the rain so we can't come. Tomorrow I will be sending a memorial donation to Sharon Richardsons in your Moms' memory. We are so fortunate to have that facility in our community. May you have a wonderful day together sharing your many memories. God Bless you, Rick and Gail
